where can i find easy puzzles?

Postby newbie » Fri Aug 26, 2005 5:04 am

I am new to sudoku (introduced by LA Times). I would like to get my 9-year old daughter hooked on the puzzles as well. We've been doing them together but it would be great if I could find some really easy/beginner puzzles for her to try on her own. Does anyone know any links to beginner's sudoku puzzles available online? Thanks in advance for any help.

There are several ways of getting them. Try the ones at

http://www.activityvillage.co.uk/sudoku_for_kids.htm

or you could download sudoku creating software, which will give an unlimited supply of the standard of puzzles that you are looking for. If you want a free, downloadable program, I suggest angusj's freeware available from

www.angusj.com/sudoku

Enjoy! If you want more links, just ask; I know plenty.

once you practice a few you will learn to prefer the harder ones.

But a nine year old would need to start with easy ones.:)

Fair point, that is one problem i have with Sudoku book 2, it has many less easy puzzles than difficult and feindish ones, maybee there should be a book of easier puzzles brought out

The program (on this website) will generate as many easy puzzles as you can handle, for a one-off payment, perhaps that could be an option for you.

or just get the trial for a month, after that you can either buy the full version or stop using it, without paying a penny

It's probably easier to post the puzzle at the point at which you got stuck. Something like this is the norm:

4 - - - 8 - - 6 9
- 6 3 - - - - - -
5 - 1 - 7 - - - -
7 - - 9 6 - - - 8
- - - - - 7 1 - 3
2 - - - 5 - 6 - -
1 - - - - - - - -
- 4 - - - 5 9 - -
- - - - - 8 4 3 -

Then it's more likely that someone'll assist.
