Code: Select all
*-----------*
|9..|.71|...|
|.1.|349|.76|
|..7|.5.|9..|
|---+---+---|
|2..|7.4|3..|
|743|598|...|
|..8|.3.|74.|
|---+---+---|
|..6|.2.|.93|
|32.|...|...|
|...|.83|5..|
*-----------*

9...71....1.349.76..7.5.9..2..7.43..743598.....8.3.74...6.2..9332...........835..

There are plenty of good observations but none of them is as easy as we usually get with these types of enquiries. I'll finish it off in two ALS moves.

Code: Select all
*---------------------------------------------*
| 9  368 b24   | 268  7   1  | 248  2358 2458 |
|b58 1   b25   | 3    4   9  | 28   7    6    |
|b46 3-8  7    |a28   5  a26 | 9    1238 1248 |
|--------------+-------------+----------------|
| 2  569  159  | 7    16  4  | 3    58   589  |
| 7  4    3    | 5    9   8  | 126  126  12   |
| 16 59   8    | 12   3   26 | 7    4    59   |
|--------------+-------------+----------------|
| 58 578  6    | 14   2   57 | 14   9    3    |
| 3  2    1459 | 1469 16  57 | 1468 168  1478 |
| 14 79   149  | 1469 8   3  | 5    126  1247 |
*---------------------------------------------*

The first one shows that one of r2c1 or r3c4 is 8, so r3c2 is not 8. That get's you to here.

Code: Select all
*-------------------------------------------*
| 9  a68  24   | 28-6 7  1  | 248  3   5    |
| 58  1   25   | 3    4  9  | 28   7   6    |
| 46  3   7    | 28   5  26 | 9    128 124  |
|--------------+------------+---------------|
| 2   69  19   | 7    16 4  | 3    5   8    |
| 7   4   3    | 5    9  8  | 126  126 12   |
| 16  5   8    | 12   3  26 | 7    4   9    |
|--------------+------------+---------------|
| 58 b78  6    | 14   2  57 | 14   9   3    |
| 3   2   1459 | 1469 16 57 | 1468 168 147  |
|b14 b79 b149  |b1469 8  3  | 5    126 1247 |
*-------------------------------------------*

One of r1c2 or r9c4 is 6, so r1c4 is not 6. The puzzle solves with singles from there.
