What next?

Postby Arnie » Tue Jun 28, 2005 8:18 pm

I cannot see what step happens next. "Simple sudoku" is unable to provide any hints and despite an Xwing of 1's in rows 3/7 I'm stumped !

*92 *1* **6
5** 982 *3*
*** *** ***

*1* 8*6 574
*** 174 3**
784 3** *6*

*** *** ***
*7* *41 **3
4** *3* 79*

Any hints most welcome

You have some tricky candidate eliminations that can be made. I'll try to keep my hints fairly subtle for now, but I can elaborate if you need me to.

Look at where the 7's can go in row 1.
Look at where the 6's can go in row 2.
Look for a quad in row 3.
Now place a number in block 3.
