i was just wondering what the sandard amount was... please help

If by "fixed numbers" you mean "clues" or "givens", as I recall the minimum number of givens is thought to be 17 (to get a unique solution), but nobody has been able to prove this. Typical number of givens in newspaper puzzles is around 30-35, but this varies widely from day to day.
