When I started Sukdoku I somehow naturally gravitated to using pencil markups. Perhaps it was from trying to make sense of this forum. Anyway, now that I have a fair understanding of basic techniques using pencil markups, is there a name for the technique that DOESN'T use them? I have a lady acquaintance who doesn't use them and, when presented with a harder puzzle than usually appears in the newspaper, resorts to GUESSING (horrors!). However, she solves a SuperHard BrainBasher in 30 minutes by her pragmatic approach. Though I'm getting a little faster, one of those MAY just take me a whole day. I'm jealous. What do you call what she does?
