I don't recall any formal way of presenting a network as a chain with memory. However, I might have presented it as a discontinuous loop with memory since the opportunity presents itself.

I don't know the answer to Leren's question, but I made the same deletions in two separate moves.

1) Chain (6=1)r7c7-(15=6)r64c7-r5c9=r5c5=>r7c5<>6
2) XY-Wing (34-6), pivot r7c5=>r8c5<>6
