I've been turning my head to mush staring at this puzzle. There must be some advanced technique that I'm missing.

My First time posting, so I'm not really sure how to use the "Code" to make the grids look nice

I'm able to place the 2 and 5 in the top-middle region, but after that, I'm pretty much stuck.

This is an evil puzzle that requires complex techniques that is beyond some pen & paper solvers.
