Don't you get it? It's absolutely hilarious. Maybe your IQ isn't high enough to understand.

Yes, everyone says something along those lines without explaining the joke. Clearly you all hope to fool people like me into thinking we're thick because we don't get an in fact non-existent 'joke'. Well I won't be fooled!!!

It transpires that actually, you posted your 'imperceptible witticisms' comment out of context. I don't think this is relevant to example you gave, but had you posted the whole solution of a puzzle with an 'imperceptible witticism', you may have ended up with something looking like this:

893 l 176 l 542
176 l 542 l 893
542 l 893 l 176

etc.

OK I agree it's not funny, but there is a sort of joke (witticism, even?) there, you must agree.

I can see that, I suppose. But the one I had mentioned I was taking from that very website you linked to, where it says:

Today's solution in the Guardian contains the following "almost imperceptible witticism": 312875946.

I think the journalist who wrote the article must have missed the point of the 312875946 witticism there - I'm sure it was the same kind of thing as the 893176542 witticism but he/she couldn't be bothered to write out the whole thing.

Woo! 100th post!
