Both patterns are ok regarding symmetries.
The first one has 30 clues. The permitted maximum is 29.
The second one pass the test.

Note, however, that this pattern resembles that of Game 82, which had a poor outcome:
Code: Select all
 . . . . . . . . .
 . 6 7 . . . 5 8 .
 . 4 . 7 . 2 . 3 .
 . . 9 . 7 . 4 . .
 . . . 3 . 6 . . .
 . . 5 . 1 . 8 . .
 . 7 . 1 . 5 . 2 .
 . 2 8 . . . 9 5 .
 . . . . . . . . .   ED=2.3/2.0/2.0 - tarek

Also, submissions to the Patterns Game have to be minimal, which is not easy to achieve for 28 clues. This is an example with your pattern:
Code: Select all
 1 . . . . . . . 2
 . 2 3 . . . 4 5 .
 . 4 . 2 . 6 . 7 .
 . . 1 . 7 . 8 . .
 . . . 4 . 3 . . .
 . . 4 . 8 . 5 . .
 . 7 . 1 . 9 . 8 .
 . 1 8 . . . 7 9 .
 9 . . . . . . . 5  Minimal, rare rating (never played before)

Mike

Here is one SER=9.3
Code: Select all
+---+---+---+
|3..|...|..4|
|.65|...|83.|
|.8.|7.3|.5.|
+---+---+---+
|..6|.5.|1..|
|...|3.4|...|
|..8|.2.|3..|
+---+---+---+
|.2.|1.5|.6.|
|.53|...|41.|
|6..|...|..8|

And this one has a lower ER but a higher ED (and is, of course, minimal):
Code: Select all
 1 . . . . . . . 2
 . 2 3 . . . 4 5 .
 . 6 . 2 . 4 . 3 .
 . . 1 . 6 . 7 . .
 . . . 3 . 8 . . .
 . . 6 . 7 . 5 . .
 . 3 . 8 . 9 . 7 .
 . 1 7 . . . 3 9 .
 9 . . . . . . . 5   ED=9.0/9.0/7.1
