swordfish help please

Postby bermec » Sun Sep 23, 2007 8:21 pm

Hi all,
I am another addict and learning the various methods of solving.
Now attempting to solve with the swordfish pattern.
I believed I had found one, all eights cancelled but one, (row 2, column 6).
Could you please point out the error of my ways...

Bermec,
Others will explain it more technically (and better) than I can but a swordfish has to fit into an overall 3 row X 3 column set. The fact that your example involves 4 rows stops it being a potential swordfish.

Thanks Bigtone53,
You have put your finger right on it.
I can see the fault instantly. The theory behind the swordfish was destroyed by using four rows.
Cheers!
