Edit: No point in keeping this post... you could delete the whole thing if you like.

Yes, apologies. I did not realise I could not delete it myself hence the rather odd editing.

Am mightily stuck on Superior 14 though if anyone would care to give a clue.

Thanks.

Doh. Every time. Thanks very much Pat. And yes, by all means let the powers that be delete this post when they see fit.

It is easy up to here

Code: Select all
3--|8--|712
7--|4--|--5
5--|-17|49-
9--|72-|5-6
--5|1--|9--
6-3|594|--1
159|-4-|--7
4--|---|1-9
-3-|9-1|---

Now you may see that in the top right mini grid (3X3) rhe only six candidates are in the second row. Therefore the 6 candidate can be removed from other squares in that row. You can now fill in some more number easily untill you come to

Code: Select all
3--|8--|712
7--|43-|--5
5--|-17|493
9--|72-|5-6
--5|1--|9--
6-3|594|--1
159|-4-|2-7
4--|3--|1-9
-3-|9-1|---

You now have a naked pair in the top righ 3X 3 and so can remove a few more candidates.

The 7 candidate can also be removed from (r8, c2) as the only 7 candidates in box 4 are in the same collum

I will work on it
