Sudoku Site Update

Postby gaby » Mon Mar 13, 2006 11:12 pm

Hi,

I run a Sudoku website which has undergone some major upgrades in the last months, as well as getting a new name:

http://www.playr.co.uk/sudoku/

New features include:

- Any puzzle can be downloaded as a PDF
- Any puzzle can be printed directly from the site
- Daily puzzles can be sent by email to yourself, or others
- Free PDF book's of puzzles, in all levels of difficulty
- Previous month's daily puzzles also available as PDF books
- All PDF books are available in A4, A5 and 6"x9" formats
- Books not quite what you want? Then you can build a custom book, just for you, with the puzzles you want.
- Register for a syndication account yourself, to display puzzles on your website
- Built-in help for the solvers, and other areas of the site
- Facility to choose a random puzzle based on it's rating
- All the help, tips, dictionary entries and information from the old site, just as good as before
- New, cleaner, simpler layout
- Many, many bug fixes and code tweaks.

I'm sure there's tons more I've left off this list. If the new site feels familiar in any way, it's probably because it's all based on my old site at http://vanhegan.net/sudoku/ and everything that was on there has been copied to the new site.

Have a play, see what you think. All feedback is welcome!

Oh, nearly forgot, there's more than a million puzzles on the site now. That should keep some of you busy for quite a while:)

Nice, seems to be another good source with trustable rating (i only missed triples and unique rectangles in the rating system - and - is it a typo that 1.1.0.2 is fiendish, but 2.1.3.2 very hard ?).

1.1.0.2 is fiendish because it requires 2 level four techniques to solved.

Hm, i thought so, but 2.1.3.2 should require 2 level four techniques also then and is only rated very hard ?

A fair point. The classification system is not really an exact science, but I'm always open to suggestions:)
