Sudoku on your mobile phone?

Postby shakers » Fri May 13, 2005 12:11 pm

Just saw this on the Times's site http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,18209-1609344,00.html and wondered whether anyone had tried it yet?

Is it anything to do with you, Wayne?

Yes, the puzzles you get are all genuine Sudoku puzzles from Pappcom.

Well, it downloaded to my P900 in around 5 seconds.Normally I would never download anything from the net to my mobile, but I could not resist. Was not disapponted. The installation is nice and quick, then the program starts. It hung for a minute, so I rebooted and started the program again. Straight into it. Pick which puzzle out of the ten you downloaded, and start.

Before downloading the program, you are given numrous choices as to what you want to donwload, there are 2 volumes of Easy, Mild, Difficult and fiendish, plus 2 others that I never viewed.
Should keep people busy for a while.

Most annoying thing, the little pencil that covers some squares. Is it eally needed?

Overall impression, now I dont have to carry numerous printouts or the book around the factory at night. Just me and my Sudoku mobile!

For someone ... Yes!:) LOL.

Actually, it's amazing how many different businesses get a cut of the pie, and for so many different reasons.

If it works on my P900 it should work even better on the P910i

That's what I thought...

But when I try to connect to the website sent to me in the text message it tells me that the phone is not supported.

I've mailed the provider to see if they know anything but I thought I'd try here as well.

I've also downloaded the demo version straight from Teazel and that will not run at all.

:(

Sudkou for mobile

Postby Guest » Thu May 26, 2005 3:40 pm

Hi,

We are actually doing the same as the Times and selling sudoku for mobile. It's pretty much exactly the same deal apart from it's only £3 and you get 90 puzzles, not 10.

If you want to give it a go, go to http://www.sudokumobile.net

Cheers,

M@.

Just tried this...

Postby Guest » Thu May 26, 2005 10:19 pm

I just tried to buy the new mobile version (at sudokumobile).

All I got back was an SMS thanking me, no links to the app.

When I get the app on my phone I'll post a "proper" review.

Mobile Sudoku from The Times

Postby Guest » Wed Jun 01, 2005 7:11 am

I sent the text message for this over two weeks ago and despite receiving four messages saying payment has been taken no links to download have been received.

Very disappointing support from both The Times and Bluestar.

My phone is supported and I am getting everything else that is sent to it so think it must be something at the other end... Contacting O2 today to see if they can do anything to help given that at least two payments of £4.50 have been taken from my account!

Yes - many times by email - they are now not even replying to my emails. Bluestar did email me last weekend to say they would send me the game "free of charge" the following day - I am still waiting AND so far it has cost me over £10!

Does anyone have a phone number for someone at The Times or Bluestar ???
