Is it just me or is it sometimes impossible to do Sudoku from a newspaper? There is no room whatsoever to enter the candidates, something that I have become increasingly reliant upon to complete a hard puzzle.

A sharp pencil usually helps, but stay away from those mechanical pencils, because they tend to go straight through the paper.

Of course, you can always enlarge it in a photocopier or copy the puzzle onto a larger grid.
