I know that there are several sudoku board games out there now, but most of them seem to revolve about the same theme - that is to solve a puzzle quicker than the other players. To me there doesn't seem to be any real interaction.
SuDoKu - Battle Lines from www.ratkins.com appears to approach it differently. Instead of trying to come up with a solution to a particular puzzle, players actively try to block each other. The game tends to be extremely strategical and "nasty" (he he).
We use it as an ice-breaker at parties and have had up to 10 players in one game.
Also you're not dependant on pregenerated puzzles and I've found that as it is based on the sudoku rules, it is easy to learn and applicable to all ages. (I actually use the board and tiles to solve solitaire puzzles instead of paper and pen!)
