[size=18]Since Sudoku was originated with Euler's Magic squares I want help from someone who can program the magic square 4 x 4 matrix ( using digits 1 to 16) where the rows , columns and diagonals add up to 42. This will be a much better game for cellfone than a 9 x 9 matrix . There are 304 solutions without rotation[/size].

Sorry . Made a mistake . The 4 digits should add up 34.

Incidentally, you don't need a program to generate 4*4 squares. There is a simple technique which you can use to generate them in your head.

Good party piece....You can just write them out and look really brainy.

NOte the fact that as wel as the rows and columns and diagonals adding to 34......

most of the 2*2 boxes within add to 34. Also the opposite diagonals ( ie r2c1, r1c2 and r4c3, r3c4 and the other way round.
