For those who like trivia, the name Su Doku is an abbreviation.
I found this whilst surfing:

Original name of Su Doku is;

Suji ha dokushin ni kagiru

Which means; 'We like better the number is single'.

"Doku", if my learning (extremely miniscule) serves me correct can also mean 'poison' and "su" means 'number', so it's a double entendra (sp?), meaning either 'number isolation', as previously stated, or 'number poison'

Lobby__boy my Japanese is nonexsistent. If I take your interpretation as correct and it means number poison, then by inserting a wrong number into the grid by faulty logic you've effectively poisoned the puzzle to a correct solution.

logical...as every puzzle (almost, anyways) has only one correct path. any illogical step would ruin the rest, as that step is then built upon.
