I work on Washington Post puzzles. This one from jan 26, 2008 was called hard. What I have so far is? Can you give me a hint where to go next. I've looked for hidden doubles, triples etc.

xxx x7x x6x
xx8 x4x xx2
xx1 23x 5xx

xx3 x12 xx5
x5x x8x x4x
9xx 35x 2xx

xx4 x21 7xx
8xx x9x 6xx
x7x x6x xxx

What I have so far is

Code: Select all
 . . . | . 7 . | . 6 .
 . . 8 | . 4 . | . . 2
 . . 1 | 2 3 . | 5 . .
-------+-------+------
 . . 3 | . 1 2 | . . 5
 . 5 . | . 8 . | . 4 .
 9 . . | 3 5 . | 2 . .
-------+-------+------
 . . 4 | . 2 1 | 7 . .
 8 . . | . 9 . | 6 . .
 . 7 . | . 6 . | . . .

as pointed out above,
it could be called a duo --
    in c3, the {6,7}
for a slightly different viewpoint,
consider it as line-to-box exclusions --
the 6 for column 3 must be in box 4, exclude 6 elsewhere in that box

    the 7, ditto
-- then just "hidden singles"
