Here is a more straightforward solution for this grid, making use of the Almost Unique Rectangle in cells r1c1/r2c1/r1c5/r2c5:

[r7c1](-8-[r1c1])-8-[r5c1]-7-[r1c1]=7,8|6=[r2c5]-6-[r9c5]=6=[r8c6]-6-[r8c3]-8-[r7c1], => r7c1<>8 and that solve the puzzle.
