"Simple Sudoku" Application — Insufficent Documentation

Postby Wordhewer » Thu Jun 08, 2017 5:05 am

The application Simple Sudoku seems to be an exceptionally well designed program for both playing and creating Sudoku games of all levels.

However, its documentation is all about the logical aspects of playing Sudoku (and this, too, is exceptional).

It lacks the most basic of documentation — how to use the interface to play a game! I don't know how to select and eliminate "candidates", nor what colour-coding a cell is useful for.

I'd appreciate any help or pointer to a page that will explain the playing aspects of this program to me.

Many thanks for any responses,

Steve, Simple Sudoku is, indeed, a wonderful program, but it's been around for a very long time. Hodoku is newer and even better, so I'll advise you to start there rather than learning SS.

By the way, color coding cells is useful in doing single and double coloring eliminations. These are explained in the SS documentation. Hodoku does cell coloring and candidate coloring as well.
