Leren has played ALS XZ rule twice in a row; I looked for one both days and came up empty. :oops:

DP (24) r89c16, mix of internal and external. The two possibilities yield a common outcome.

6r8c1=2r2c6

6r8c1-r7c2=r7c4-(6=2378)r3579-r2c6=8r2c8
2r2c6-(2=68)r2c28=> 8r2c8

Here are some links to explanations of the ALS XZ rule, ALS XY Wings etc.

The first one is on this forum and apparently was the original discovery of the method. The second link is on the Hodoku site which, as usual, provides nice worked examples. The third link is to Andrew Stuart's site, which is also pretty good with worked examples.

That's a mistake.
I only got 6r8c1 from the UR, which does not help much.

I don't know what you're calling a mistake and I don't understand the 2nd sentence.

6r8c1-r7c2=r7c4-(6=2378)r3579-r2c6=8r2c8

The chain is wrong, from 6r8c1 it does not follow 8r2c8.
Look at 6r7c4-(6=2378)r3579, which probably should say 6r7c4-(6=2378)r3579c4, but if r7c4=6, it is also in r3579c4.

My way to show r8c1=6 is simply
2r2c6-(2=6)r2c2-r7c2=6r8c1
(so in both cases r8c1 must be 6).
