Marty, I don't believe that excluding 2 from all of the indicated cells yields the BUG pattern. You would have only one 2 in column 6 and three 8's.

OK, thanks. I was a little nervous about my solution and was half-expecting a comment. Would three 2s and an 8 in r1c6 do the trick? (I don't know why I didn't try the 8 originally).

Yes, that's what I posted for my solution. At least I hope it's correct. I have a history of messing up BUG solutions.
