I bet I'm just a step away - could anyone help me with the "crux"?

Meanwhile, what I'm really after is the ability to see these techniques myself. If you can spare a moment to point out the best way to look for whatever pattern occurs, I'd be grateful!

This AIC shows that one of r7c2 or r8c6 is 7, so r7c5 is not 7 and the puzzle is solved. Unfortunately nothing much simpler for this puzzle ending.
