You are lucky to live in an anglo-saxon culture. Unfortunately, In France no pi day ! Yesterday was 14/3/2021 and there is no 14th month in any year...
That said, the true pi day occurred long ago, on March 14, 1592. With a little chance, it could have been the same day as the first centenary of Christopher Columbus landing in Americas, or leaving La Gomera (Canary Island), but that was October 12 and September 6 resp. So bad!

It's mostly just the US that does dates in this incredibly stupid MM-DD-YYYY way; the UK does it the same way as France. (As someone who works in software, I prefer YYYY-MM-DD whenever possible, but DD-MM-YYYY is obviously preferable to the US way.)

The number of times I tried to write it the wrong way around when I lived in England... :)
