Puzzles too hard?

Hi all
I've tried for a week to solve a few Sudokus manually. I've spent hours without getting very far.
With the Soduku program I first fill in the obvious numbers. Then I put pencil markers starting with ones.
It's then relatively easy to search 3*3 boxes, rows and columns for a cell with a number that's only present once in that box, row or column.
Doing it this way with a pencil would get too messy.

Best regards

Sorry if this comes across as a bit short, but you need to read all the pages on solving techniques. What you're doing will, literally, only get you so far.
