I cant see the logical step from here - only T&E.:(

* 9 * ¦ 5 6 8 ¦ 3 2 4
2 4 3 ¦ 9 1 7 ¦ * * *
8 5 6 ¦ 3 4 2 ¦ 7 9 1
3 * 2 ¦ 4 * 9 ¦ * * 7
* * 9 ¦ 6 * 3 ¦ * * *
4 6 * ¦ 2 * 1 ¦ 9 3 8
9 7 4 ¦ 8 2 6 ¦ 5 1 3
* 3 * ¦ 7 9 5 ¦ * * *
* 2 * ¦ 1 3 4 ¦ * 7 9

Not the move I had in mind but it sure is a valid move.

The only possible candidates for r4c7 are 1 and 6, you just eliminated 6 as a candidate so you can fill in the 1 :) (that's the one I had in mind)

Yes goes on to show the different permutations that exist even as the puzzle is very close to completion

I completed this puzzle in around 2 hours. Shocked the grey hairs off me, I can tell ya, but I did it.

Puzzle 85, however, I've been staring at since 12 April and didn't get a move until yesterday and that was after a lot of help - from the same man, or woman. Obviously it just depends on the puzzle and what your blindspots are.

Amazing...I joined the forum specifically to post the same query, and I see the grid reproduced at the exact same stall-point that I've been at for a couple of days. How about that! And the solution is so obvious (after it's been pointed out, of course).

Thanks to everyone for showing me the light. Nice to know I wasn't the only one stuck on #86.

Does anyone else dream grids when they sleep?
