You've made a mistake. Row 8, Column 8 and 9 should be 4-7 rather than 7-4.

There's only one number that can go in r4c8, and then only one number that can go in r4c9. Then only one place remaining for a 6 in row 5.

Down the track, you might run into what's called a Naked Pair (1 and 8) in row 8. That means 2 cells exist with only 1 and 8 as candidates. Therefore 1 must go in one of them and 8 in the other, and neither 1 nor 8 can be in any other cell in that row. So there's only one number that can go in r8c3 in that case.

See if it gets you finished - if not, post what you're up to and we'll take it further.

I think I made mistakes:
Code: Select all
|..6|.9.|187|
|8.7|5.6|..9|
|.9.|.78|.65|
------------
|453|9.2|7.6|
|718|65.|.9.|
|629|7..|5.8|
------------
|.7.|469|8..|
|362|..5|974|
|984|327|651|

When I progressed the puzzle, I found out that 8 must be in r4c5 therefore in r8c4 and this will make number 1 in r8c5 and r3c4 but then I couldn’t put number 1 in r2c2 since there is another 1 in r5c5. I’ve tried this a few times but it came out this way all the time. Can anyone point out my mistakes, please…

Yes you did.
If you enter the original grid in a solver and solve it then you see (among other mistakes) that r1c9 has to be 5, not 7.

The only thing you can do now is start all over again.
