cannot figure this out, would love to learn whatever it is I'm missing

This puzzle can be solved with just singles.
Where in column 2 can you place a 3?
What digits are allowed in R4C2?
Solve those two, and the remaining cell in column 2 should be obvious.
At that point it should get a little easier.
