Have people heard about the Sudoku Championship taking place in Philly October 19 through 21? Will Shortz is hosting. www.philly.com/sudoku. I'm helping organize if you have any questions. It's open to all levels and top prize is $10,000, plus trip to India to represent the U.S. in the World Sudoku competition.

Some early questions:
What are the prizes for places 2 and 3 in each section (and lower places, if any)?
What is the significance of the bonus round?
Who (either person or computer program) will create the puzzles?

Will Shortz is responsible for the puzzles. There are prizes based on age categories. It's $100 per category. As of now, no prizes for 2nd or 3rd place. More answers at: http://www.philly.com/philly/comics_games/sudoku/8058927.html

Yes, but, as is well known, he doesn´t compile them himself. Who has the honour?
