I searched this pattern for a very long time... - its got the mini diagonals but I only found one puzzle in double figures !!!! so maybe a challenge

By double figures I assume you mean SE >= 10. That is inded, very elusive. I thought you've maybe used some trick such as makung the clue values left-right symmetric (apart from the spine), like the clue positions themselves, as in

yes it is a 10.2 !! but i was searching for diamond-like... but only just got a 9.3 top... not sure why this pattern doesnt have higher puzzles...
but it does have a lot of puzzles...

indeed some of my 9.3s with skfr were uplifted.... the 10.2 came from nowhere as I was deliberately excluding searching around puzzlers with initial easy steps..
