as i said, moving on to game 42 is pointless until we can get some players

don't know why it kicked out in 23 hr but it smells like my usual off-by-one
you think I'd have gotten that right after x years of coding

As I said before the Patterns Game is a full time job, especially when you don't have a sort of g.r.emlin as watchdog.
For me, the game is too quick.

In addition, my solver and other programs I'm using, written some years ago, almost without any improvement since then, are really a joke.
They work fine for finding puzzles with high ERs, but are not very efficient to anticipate good EDs.
I'd need some time to improve them.

Pat, you cannot expect that everybody plays every game :
I was alone for the game 1, in my initial thread.
We were two for the game 2, etc...

but in game 41 it seemed that everybody just evaporated

look what happened 2008.Jun.28
( though the game-closed message has now been removed )

my concern was that game 42 would start and immediately end,
due to absence of players.
now that you're rejoining,
i'm no longer worried.

( please note that i am not a seriious player in this game;
nor do i visit every day. )
