Sorry for jumping in without a puzzle submission, but this one blew me away! After many, many STSS + forcing chain iterations (18 chains with STSS tossed in between when useful), I cleared some singles one locked set... then look what jumped out of the Suduok sea:
- Code: Select all
358 34 568 | 49 179 479 | 68 12 256
569 79 1 | 2 8 3 | 4 59 5679
47 2 89 | 5 14 6 | 789 3 179
-------------+---------------+------------
489 5 3 | 4689 2 489 | 1 7 469
1289 14 289 | 689 57 57 | 369 24 369
249 6 7 | 1 3 49 | 5 8 249
-------------+---------------+------------
1579 8 59 | 3 459 2 | 79 6 14
356 39 4 | 7 56 1 | 2 59 8
2679 17 2569 | 489 569 4589 | 379 14 3579
The next move my solver found is a Leviathan on 9's; first time I've ever seen one of these!! Found in r1345679c1345679 and results in r2c19<>9.
Still doesn't crack the puzzle, but it did make me stop testing and stare for a minute. (FYI, my solver needed another forcing chain, singles, 2 patterns, a locked set and final forcing chain to reduce the puzzle to singles & a solution).
Cheers...
