Might I suggest that a longer pause be introduced between games? At least an additional 24 hours.

WAIT_IDLE=22+WAIT_CLOSED=2 hours idle + WAIT_START=8 hours close=>start + WAIT_OPEN=8 hours start=>open

I coded an interval not a multiple of 24 between close and open for variability
suggestions for WAIT_START/WAIT_OPEN?

any hints on analyzing a puzzle for max pearl/diamond (besides random generation/filtering)?

I have the impresssion that any pattern with 4 givens in a row/column (not box) is a poor (impossible?) source of pearls.
