Pappacom Hard

Code: Select all

                . . 8 | . 2 . | 3 7 . |
                . 3 . | . . 7 | 5 . . |
                . . . | 3 6 1 | . . . |
                -----------------------
                . . 9 | . . . | . 5 . |
                2 4 . | . . . | . 1 3 |
                . 6 . | . . . | 7 . . |
                -----------------------
                . . . | 9 7 6 | . 3 . |
                . . 3 | 4 . . | . 2 . |
                . 9 . | . 3 . | 4 . . |

I am a beginner and can do Moderates from the Pappacom programme in about 18 mins but can't do Hards at all without guessing. What would be the next logical step in the above puzzle?
Thanks, Sandy

You can place a number in R4C1. And one just below it.:)

My candidate number for r4c1 and r6c1 is 3 but I don't see how to exclude r6c1.

Hi there Hugh Jass,

Things will be clearer as you answer these questions......

Where would u place a 1 in Row 2 ?
Where would u place a 2 in Row 2 ?
Where would u place a 2 in Column 2 ?
Where would u place a 6 in Column 3 ?

Start with the first, then continue with your normal solution techniques.......if stuck look at the next question.......

There are more...but I think you would know what to do without the help at that stage......
