It's a valid puzzle that shouldn't require any kind of advanced techniques. I suppose you made a mistake somewhere, just try again or post your solution and I can maybe tell you where it went wrong.

According to Simple Sudoku, the puzzle is valid and solves with nothing but naked and hidden singles.
