new player as new as 5 minutes ago !!!! help anyone!!!!

Help us by explaining what you need help with.

nkgee (me) is a new player and would like to learn the basics in solving a puzzle-the puzzle in the local paper is tough for me i don't know what level is is. i am from USofA and sudoku is new to me that doesn't mean that it isn't familiar with others but of the sudoku site all the players are British

First, make sure you understand the rule of sudoku.

Next, learn how to solve the puzzles.

Once you are comfortable solving easy puzzles, you can learn other solving techniques that you will need for the difficult puzzles.

Thanks for the links. I'm a new player as of a couple of hours ago. (I must get the same newspaper as nkgee -- it just started running the puzzle.) The angusj link was MUCH more helpful than the official sudoku page's hints.
