Hi;

I just finished a rather fast and graphically 'entertaining'
online Java applet at http://sudoku.klaas.nl that solves your SuDoku's. It comes with
three built-in puzzles so a two-click process (select Puzzle, then Solve)
will give you a nice demonstration.

I know how to get it 10x faster but even for a Times puzzle
marked 'difficult', I can wait for the 10 seconds to solve it.

I liked it. I liked the way the numbers flashed as it was solving - kinda like the Star Trek Enterprise (Original Series!) computer repeating the word working. I also liked the way it solved from top to bottom. Very entertaining all round.

I don't think that it needs to go faster, though.

Added an option-button for you to turn optimization on or off.

With optimization turned on, the program solves the puzzle in a much
more human way; that is, first try the cells with just a few possibilities.

Also added a 4th puzzle rated 'difficult' by the Times (thanks again).
With optimization, solving is again quite fast.

Oh - did I say you can also use an an Helper, you trying to solve your
own puzzle manually? You can save your (partially solved) puzzle,
then come back later and continue working!
