New on-line sudoku helper (free)

Postby tororo » Mon Mar 27, 2006 10:50 pm

Hi,
We wrote a quite fine sudoku helper (Java) with my friend. It' s free.
Please try it - it has some very useful features.

If you will have any suggestions to improve it - feel free to post them here. I'll be grateful for any opinions.

Mac OS X and Safari... Applet cstarter not inited

Mac OS X and Firefox... Button called "Run" creates a new window, but it is blank .. actually I can occasionally see parts of buttons, but they are not redrawn correctly. I would guess a bug in the "rePaint" method..

Mac OS X and IE.. Applet not initalized

Next you have to push the button:D

(On my system, this brings up a second window with the helper in it.. looks quite nice, but as always I think it needs an input mechanism for entering an 81-character string to represent a puzzle, rather than individually typing entries..)

We have a small problem with the data input function because several sudoku data formats exist in the web. So instead of adding the data input funcion we decided to improve the helper by addding pencilmarks. And now it is possible to put data in the helper quickly by clicking on pencilmarks.

We have a request for all users of our helper. We are not native English speakers (we are from Poland) so it’s possible (rather sure than possible:) ) that we made several mistakes. So please help us and polish our Polish English. We’ll be also very grateful for any advice or remarks.

Thanks for all

I checked it in IE and Firefox and helper started properly. Did you turn on Java in your PC? If yes you has to wait several seconds until Java applet will start.
