I'm quite new to Sudoku and this puzzle drives me crazy.
This is the original Sudoku:

Code: Select all
. . . | 6 . . | . . .
. . 3 | 9 . . | . . .
. . 5 | 7 . 1 | 4 8 .
------------------------
. . . | . . . | 9 4 2
. . . | . . . | . . .
6 3 8 | . . . | 5 . .
------------------------
. 7 2 | 3 . 5 | 1 . .
. . . | . . 9 | 6 . .
. . . | . . 8 | . . .

Logic brings me to:
Code: Select all
. . . | 6 . 3 | . . 9
. . 3 | 9 . 4 | . 6 .
9 6 5 | 7 2 1 | 4 8 3
------------------------
. . . | 8 3 6 | 9 4 2
. . 9 | 5 1 7 | 8 3 6
6 3 8 | 4 9 2 | 5 . .
------------------------
. 7 2 | 3 6 5 | 1 9 .
3 . . | . . 9 | 6 . .
. 9 6 | . . 8 | 3 . .

And now I'm stucked.
Can it be ambiguous??

Can anybody give me a hint?

THX.

Perhaps there is no further logical step, some puzzles (though not any of Pappocom's) require trial-and-error. Where did the puzzle come from?

A friend gave me the puzzle, but it's from "The Guardian" I think .

Ask your friend to verify the starting grid...

This puzzle has multiple solutions... so I'm guessing your friend left out a clue... or that the puzzle is intented to have multiple solutions.

I verified it myself and it is missing a clue.

r4c3 has to be the number 1.
