Hello, I'm pretty new and don't know of many strategies, so feel free to give them to me (with examples of course).

This is the 140th puzzle in "Su Doku for Dummies". I have done all the puzzles preceding it.

Right now I'm trying to go for speed in solving, but I have come to an abrupt stop on this puzzle:

Naked pair in box 9 should help! (I know, can't see the wood for the trees sometimes and we've all had those why couldn't I see that before moments!)
Were you trying to solve this without candidates? It usually helps to post your candidate list as well so we know what you've eliminated or not.

For techniques I'd recommend www.angusj.com/sudoku and www.simes.clara.co.uk/programs/sudokutechniques.htm or searching through the Advanced Techniques forum.

Unfortuanately there is no way of telling where you've reached in your solution, but I hope this helps:

IN column 9, where would you place a 9

IN column 9, where would you place a 6
