missing techniques?

Postby White Knight » Wed Jul 06, 2005 11:59 am

I guess that I am still missing something in the solving of VHards. Here is one from the program. I have managed to get this far with the use of pair, triples, in-lines (2 nums in line in a single box) and xwings
But I can see no way forward from here. There obviously must be one, so I'm either missusing the techniques I already have, or there is another one that I am not yet using (I have not looked at swordfish, as I thought that this was not necessary for the program vhards)

So far:-
18* *4* **5
65* *** 4*2
*9* *** 18*

578 914 *2*
946 532 718
231 786 549

*15 *** 26*
32* *** 8*1
86* *2* **4

Any advice woud be appreciated:D

Take a really good look at the number 7. (You're looking for an X-wing)

:idea:So simple; I wonder how I missed it. I'm sure just staring at numbers must addle the brain somewhat when you are my advanced age! Thanks for the assistance:D
