I must be having an off day, but with Leren's solution, I can understand the elimination r8c4 <> 3, but not r7c4, r8c8 <> 3. With ArkieTech's, I don't get the (36=5)r7c4- part. Apologies if I'm overlooking something obvious, but could you please explain?

I don't know what I was seeing last night... ... usually a death blossom has an associated als xy-wing. This one didn't. I have made an edit to the original. Let me know if it is still wrong or you don't understand it.

Leren used an embedded Skyscraper -- his first four cells -- for r7c4,r8c8<>3. He then extended the Skyscraper to get =(5)r8c4. Since the original assumption was -(3)r8c5, we can conclude r8c4<>3 as well. Here's another embedded example.
