(46=5)r2c379 is another of those Almost Almost Locked Sets (AALS).
3 cells with 5 candidates, knock out both the 4 and 6 to leave the 5 in r2c7.


Was so difficult to read from right-to-left afterwards.

This part is OK, NOT 2 in r1345c8 forces 5 in r1345c8 and kills the 5 in r2c379

Then how to force 4 or 6 (or both) into r2c379?

Well, r2c379 without the 5 have 4 possible candidates 1469.

But they can only hold 3 candidates!
So either
Drop the 1 and keep 469
or
Drop the 4 and keep 169
or
Drop the 6 and keep 149
or
Drop the 9 and keep 146.
(This was nCr in my maths classes at school. Choose 3 from 4.)

Each of the options 469,169,149,146 contains a 4 or a 6 (or both).
That's forced the 4 or 6 (or both) into r2c379.

If 4 then r2c56,r3c4 contains 156 and the 8 goes into r1c4.
If 6 then r2c56,r3c4 contains 145 and the 8 goes into r1c4.
If 4 and 6 then r2c56 contains 15 and the 8 goes into r1c4.

Kills the 4 or 6 or both in r2c56 and forces the 8 in r1c4 etc.
