hello, i was assigned a math fair project and decided i wanted to focus on something in the area of su-do-ku. the outline is very felxible, just anything related to math. i was wondering if anyone had any good ideas on a topic or question regarding sudoku

I had an idea the other day. Why not calculate the ration of valid sudpoku's to the number of ways of placing digits for grids with side length n

Hi querty, I think you need the input of a teacher here.

But first, think of an area of math you have an interest in, such as:
Algebra;Topology;Analysis;Logic;Geometry;Number theory or Probability and see if you can apply it to Sudoku.

Do not limit yourself to 9x9 Sudokus, you could look at 3x3 or 4x4 or 5x5 Sudokus etc.
