Leren: Nice solution, but can't you stop each chain at r1c8 <> 4; this works just as well
PS Typo in 3rd chain.

I don't understand either. I did this one long ago and even though it looked good last night it is a puzzle this morning. Maybe someone can help.

Dan, in order to exclude 4r3c5, you need at least the "loop" ...

After several starts that turned very sour indeed - unconditional deletions and placements galore to no good purpose - I thought, forget about all this placing and concentrate on a single contradiction chain.
One conjugate pair must suffice! - 4/7 r2c3. And all the conditional markings - slashes and rectangles - are to be seen as Red. Starting at (a) and ending at (l): 12 placings, those at (i) and (l) empty cell r3c7 of both candidates 4 and 8.
So Red is false and placing the blue 7r2c3 solves by singles.
