I've been able to find a program that generates all 4x4 and 6x6 solution grids, but for 8x8 it would take years. And since I have gsf's sudoku program for generating 9x9 essential grids, I only need a program for the 8x8 grids. Does anybody know of such a program, or possibly where I can download a list of the essential grids? I'm assuming though that the list will be so big, that it won't be feasible to download it, so a program would be the best solution.

my programm takes about 23 minutes to generate all 1,673,187 essentially different 2x4 (I hope this is what you mean with 8x8) solution grids. It could be vastly improved but it's good enough for me. If you want it or a rar-file (about 10 MB) with all solution grids, write me a PM.

JSudoku will create puzzles, but I don't think it will produce a list of every possible non-equivalent solution grid.
