Killer "Super" Tip

Postby Pi » Wed Sep 21, 2005 5:02 pm

What a joke, they publish the 45 rule as a super tip

That rule was posted on this site the day after killers came out and i and probable many other had already noticed it.

I had restrained myself from looking at the tip but i gave into the temptation today and couldn't believe it

Mind you i am suprised that people managed to complete the puzzles without this knowledge

As the rule also applies to normal su doku (not that its any use in the normal mode) I noticed it about a year ago.
As soon as I saw the first killer:idea::idea::idea: I knew the 45 rule would be useful.
Its odd that the times top tip only mentions it in connection with the 3x3 box and not columns and rows where it is equally as useful...
and today we had a 45 (in 9 cells) enclosure which we all knew must contain 1 to 9..... or NOT according to last weeks rules:D

Yes, it seemed painfully obvious to me. I mean, it's not even a 'rule' so much as a consequence of an existing rule
