There's an elementary solution using only bivalue-chains[4].

And there are two 1-step solutions in W5 (with no undeclared Pairs):

Code: Select all
whip[5]: r5c4{n8 n1} - c1n1{r5 r9} - c3n1{r8 r6} - c7n1{r6 r4} - c7n8{r4 .} ==> r3c4≠8
stte

OR:
Code: Select all
whip[5]: c1n1{r5 r9} - c3n1{r8 r6} - c7n1{r6 r4} - c7n8{r4 r3} - c4n8{r3 .} ==> r5c4≠1
stte

similar to others, but viewed as a firework chain (i have them on the mind lately :lol:)

Code: Select all
.-----------.-------------.-------------------.
| 37  8  26 | 16  47  14  |  235  9     235   |
| 4   5  37 | 9   78  2   |  6    13    138   |

| 8   7  13 | 5   2   136 |  139  1346  13469 |
:-----------+-------------+-------------------:
| 5   3  8  | 4   1   7   |  29   26    269   |
| 6   9  17 | 2   5   8   |  4    137   137   |
|*17  2  4  | 3   6   9   | x157  8     157   |
'-----------'-------------'-------------------'

|| 1r4c6
||(1-8)r4c7 = 8r3c7 - 8r3c4 = 8r5c4
|| 1r9c7 - 1r9c1 = 1r5c1
-1r5c4 stte

as an equivalent kraken column instead:
|| 1r6c7 - 1r4c789 = 1r4c6
||(1-8)r4c7 = 8r3c7 - 8r3c4 = 8r5c4
|| 1r9c7 - 1r9c1 = 1r5c1

with T&L, which represents both perceptions
Xsudo T&L: Show
5 Truths = {1R4 1C17 8C47}
7 Links = {1r59 8r3 5n4 4n7 1b56}

It doesn't represent any of the other 2 "perceptions". It's a 3rd one.

Thanks for the solutions, especially Steve's perfect AIC.

 |  A17   2  4    |  3    6    9     | a157   8      157     |

The digit in r6c3 must go to r4c7 too (can't be in r6c7, by the links in c1 1 not in r9c7, 3 not in r1c7) => -8r4c7, stte

to be pedantic, sure. point was that this viewing shows the relationship between the previous two, each are made of the same pieces but have different starting points

and gorgeous solution eleven! as usual :D

There's nothing pedantic, but the most elementary set theory.
Both my whips and your kraken thing rely on some ordering inherent in the chain(s) they involve.
The Xsudo pattern involves two sets, with no ordering of their elements.

So, can you explain how two sets can represent a sequence of candidates in a whip (or 3 sequences in your pattern)?

If the two original "perceptions" involve the same set of CSP-Variables, this can be seen directly, without any need of Xsudo for this.
