Medusa coloring : Apparently 3 and 5 in r5c2 have the same parity, which leads to 17 eliminations in the cells marked *. stte !!!!

How blindingly obvious was that !

Hi Leren,
Thanks for checking my solution: you are right of course. My excuse: as soon as I got as far as the contradiction in cell 52, I reckoned I had enough data to solve the puzzle with singles... sometimes I don't bother to mention results (such as eliminations) if they are not necessary to the solution. I'm very lazy!
- I also omitted to insert a red 2 in that cell... but realising that later, I thought it didn't matter.
Looks to me you enjoyed the mass eliminations typical of this method, even if it leaves one with no work to do at all, as in this case. Our solutions are practically identical because they are inherent in the puzzle. ( I always post before glancing at any of the other solutions - if it's the same, that is also interesting) .
