Hi experts,

While I observed a pattern in last few Andrew Stuart's "The Weekly 'Unsolvable' Sudoku Puzzle" page, only one digit repeats within a chute.

Not sure, but is there a connection with hard puzzle with TH? (a stupid question)

Usually, puzzles with a non degenerated TH have 2 of the three digits with one clue in the corner box outside the four boxes of the pattern.

Hi champagne

Many thanks for understanding my question (asked in stupid way). This is exactly what I need to know.

There is an eye catching pattern involved in a puzzle which suggest that the puzzle may be solve with at least one TH move.

However, I need a thorough study to understand.

Hi champagne,
I gave this puzzle a try.

There is an immediate JE:

Junior Exocet: Base Cells - r7c7,r7c8; Target Cells - r9c2,r8c5; Cross Cells - r123456c259
r9c2<>5,r8c5<>4
r9c2<>1,r8c4<>4,r8c5<>67,r9c3<>5

Then a few placements, then a grouped AIC.
Then, I reached an impasse. I then tried YZF_Sudoku and there are some moves with ALSs and Death Blossoms. Tough for me.

No TH in sight though (that I can see).

Hi gordon,
well done, As I am short in time, I would appreciate to get your final PM.
As far as I can see, the degenerated TH must still be there, and the JE could make it much simpler to use

Hi again,

I have a problem, I cannot recognize the exocet, are you sure that it is one??

EDIT the pattern works for digits 678 but not for the digit 1
It seems that this play a key role in the difficulty of the puzzle, linked, I think, to the degenerated TH pattern (s?)

The JE check with the S cells works for 1, 6, 7 and 8. Each digit is seen in 2 rows. 1 in rows 4 and 6. 6 in rows 2 and 4. 7 in rows 4 and 6. 8 in rows 2 and 6.

Agreed, I was wrong thinking that the digit "1" did not force one of the target cells.
I checked carefully, no doubt, one of these cells is needed to have one solution when the digit "1" is in the base

sorry, we have a full JE
